2024 aluminum sheet does not provide good corrosion resistance when welded. The heat caused by the welding process can degrade the aluminum sheet, thus weakening its properties. If welding is necessary, it is recommended that only spot welds be made to the aluminum sheet to maintain as much of the original integrity as possible.

2000 series aluminum alloy is characterized by high strength, so it is commonly called hard aluminum alloy, good heat resistance and processing performance, but the corrosion resistance is not as good as other aluminum alloys, and intergranular corrosion will occur under certain conditions, therefore, 2000 series aluminum plate often needs to be coated with a layer of pure aluminum, or a layer of 6000 series aluminum alloy with electrochemical protection on the core plate to greatly improve its corrosion resistance. al-Cu-Mg -Fe-Ni alloy has a complex chemical composition, it has high strength at high temperatures and good process performance, it is mainly used as heat-resistant parts forged at 150 to 250℃. Al-Cu-Mg alloy at room temperature is lower than the strength of Al-Cu-Mg alloy 2 a12 and 2024 aluminum plate, but at 225 ~ 250 ℃ or higher temperature, the strength is higher than them, and the alloy has good process properties, easy to weld, mainly used for welding structural parts and forgings. 2000 series alloys are widely used in aviation and aerospace.
